Gua Sha. Strumenti e informazioni utili per il massaggio

Gua Sha massage. Tools for a better massage.

Gua Sha massage is an oriental massage technique made to caress the skin, decongest and stimulate microcirculation. As we saw in our previous article, it is a massage performed with a stone made of different precious materials, from rose quartz to amethyst with a particular shape that adapts to the shape of the face. This treatment increases the drainage of liquids, promoting detoxification of toxins and working on the circulation, oxygenates the tissues, stimulates the production of collagen, restoring luminosity to the skin.

There are two tools used:

-scraper with the shape similar to a heart
-the roller made up of two stones of different sizes.

Scraper: This tool, often shaped like a heart, is used to make gentle movements on the face. It can be applied along the jaw, forehead and nose. The curves and adaptable shape of the scraper, depending on how it is held, allows you to work on different parts of the face, following its natural curves without ever being invasive.

Roller: The roller is made up of two stones of different sizes and is an ideal tool for stretching the skin. The larger roller is used on the neck, especially along the subhyoid muscles, while the smaller roller is perfect for facial treatment.

Some useful information about Gua Sha

First of all you should know that the shape of the stone is made specifically to fit the shape of the face. It thus allows for more delicate work on the face which does not have to suffer from redness. You start with one side of the face, finish and work the other side.

Gua Sha should be used along the jaw, on the cheekbones, around the eyes, on the nose and on the forehead at an angle of 15/20 degrees. The steps must be repeated 15 times in the same working direction to accompany the drained liquid towards the lymph nodes. You must remember to hold the other area of the face with one hand in order to adequately stretch the skin to be massaged.

The stone should be used on the face with deep, but delicate and slow pressure so as to work on the lymphatic system and not on the muscles. At the end of the treatment it should be washed with soap and water and disinfected with alcohol.

This Gua Sha massage will give you a . pleasant feeling of relaxation and well-being, relieving physical and emotional tension.

In the next article we will see the lymphatic system in detail to understand the correct maneuvers to do.
